Funeral Directors Life named as one of the Top 10 Best Companies to Work for in Texas
ABILENE, TX – Funeral Directors Life has been named as one of the top 10 2021 Best Companies to Work for in Texas. This awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of Texas Monthly magazine, the Texas Association of Business, Texas SHRM, and the Best Companies Group.
This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Texas, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce, and businesses. The 2021 Best Companies to Work for in Texas list is made up of 100 companies.
“We are honored to be recognized for the 7th time as one of the top 100 Best Companies to Work for in Texas,” said Kris Seale, Funeral Directors Life President & CEO. “For nearly two years, our business experienced challenges, as did many others. I am so proud of how our people rose to the occasion, adapted, and found solutions for this ‘new normal.’ Because of them, we were able to accomplish so much more than we thought possible during a pandemic.”
This year, Funeral Directors Life was ranked #7 in the state of Texas for medium-sized companies. Last year, the company was ranked #13.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Companies to Work for in Texas. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, systems, philosophies, practices, and demographics, worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an anonymous employee survey to measure the employee experience, worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.
“We have a great team that always strives to go above and beyond,” added Seale. “This recognition by Texas Monthly and Best Companies Group is a reflection of that.”
The list of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in Texas will be profiled by Texas Monthly magazine in a special publication.
