More than any other work environment I've been in or have seen from a distance, FDLIC's culture of putting people first is clearly evident and distinguishes us from any other business. To be known for being the ‘best, most respected provider of service’ makes me proud to be aligned with such a company!

A Great Place to Work

When you are appreciated for the work you do and you feel like you are doing something that matters, you don’t have to drag yourself to work every day. You look forward to coming to work!

FDLIC is a great place to work not only because we have great benefits and amazing perks (which are awesome!), but because of the smiles that greet us every morning when we walk through the doors. When you join FDLIC, it’s like you are joining a big family that is rooting for you to succeed.

We have a sense of purpose and mission in the work we do, and we are always looking for ways to serve others and make someone’s day. Best of all, our leaders believe wholeheartedly in creating a workplace that is positive, inspirational, motivational, and fun!

FDLIC is constantly encouraging employees to learn and grow through programs such as the mentorship, book studies, and opportunities to grow mind, body, and soul. At FDLIC there is a sense of family among team members. Everyone is always willing to help one another out, whether it is professionally or personally.

We work hard every day at FDLIC, but we also regularly take time to have fun. Whether it's during our Friday afternoon kickball games, occasional employee luncheons, special company-wide contests, or pausing to celebrate a shared achievement, enjoying life together is simply a part of who we are. We truly enjoy coming to work every single day.

Around the Office

Every day at FDLIC is a new adventure- you just have to come see for yourself!

Celebrate

On any given day, you will find us celebrating a birthday party, a baby shower, a wedding shower, or a major company milestone.

Compete

We’ve had salsa making contests, lip sync contests, Nerf basketball tournaments, a hula hoop competition, talent shows, and even a giant tug of war.

Relax

We also love to relax and enjoy some good food and fellowship at our monthly company luncheons.

Kickball

Oh, and let’s not forget our standing Friday afternoon kickball games which have become a time-honored tradition at FDLIC.

When I heard about the matching program for volunteer hours, I knew immediately that I wanted to get involved in a community non-profit so that they could benefit from the matching donation. I learned about Run Free Texas, a local non-profit that matches adult mentors with at-risk youth to train for and run a 5K within 12 weeks. I love running and mentoring kids, so this was a perfect fit. Running has helped these kids deal with stress, gain self-esteem, and become a part of a healthy, supportive group. Several of the kids have actually come back to mentor others! The program has been a huge success, and I am so proud to be a part of it.

Mind, Body, and Soul

We are all on a journey together to help one another grow and develop and reach our full potential.

Paying It Forward

As a group, we want to be known as “Helpers of People.”

Over the years, we have logged countless volunteer hours and raised thousands of dollars in support of local and national non-profit organizations. A special donation matching program that FDLIC started called the Helpers of People Charitable Donations Matching Program has allowed us to double our donations to non-profit organizations.

Staying Healthy and Happy

FDLIC is a big supporter of health and wellness for mind, body, and soul.

We have regular book studies (with the books provided by the company), a corporate university called DIG U, and onsite health clinic, and group workout classes in our Wellness Center. We also have free fresh fruit provided daily, plus opportunities to pray together and support each other in our faith.

Taking Time Out

In 2010, we had our first Sabbatical Year.

We received 30 days off to rest, renew, serve others, and reconnect with loved ones. Out of that experience, we developed the Helpers of People Leave Program, which offers employees extra time off in addition to vacation time to dedicate to a service project or mission trip.
