Charitable Contibutions Matched by FDLIC

One of FDLIC's core values is to be known as "Helpers of People." Our Helpers of People Charitable Contribution Match Program is just one way in which FDLIC puts this value into practice. Through the donation match program, our client funeral homes and employees are able to double their donations to charitable non-profit organizations. This program also gives FDLIC the opportunity to support to organizations that are close to our employees' and our customers' hearts. Over the course of this year, over 65 employees and 21 funeral home clients have participated in the donation match program.

Pat and Sue Patton, owners of Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services in Minnesota, are one such couple. "For every funeral, we set aside a portion for the Children's Grief Connection. We let the family know that a donation will be made in their loved one's name. Then, at the end of the month, our donation dollars are matched by FDLIC. It makes a huge difference," said Mr. Patton.

Another customer of FDLIC, Santos Moreno, owner of Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial Designers in Texas, recently decided to make a donation to a food bank in Lubbock. "The South Plains Food Bank is a non-profit organization in our community that provides food for children and seniors, but I was really drawn to this organization because of what they do for children. They provide nutritious evening meals for children and help them with their homework after school. They also provide sack lunches to take home for the weekends. It's a wonderful program in our area," said Mr. Moreno.

Paul Phipps, owner of Green Valley Mortuary & Cemetery in California, is another customer of FDLIC who has given to a charitable organization using FDLIC's matching program. "We were worried this year that we wouldn't be able to hold our Annual Posse Barbecue fundraiser," said Mr. Phipps. "But the funds we received through the Helpers of People program enabled us to sponsor the Barbecue, and we were able to raise money for the Sheriff's Posse of El Dorado County. The funds FDLIC provided were greatly appreciated by not only us, but the entire community."
