FDLIC is proud to announce the winners of the Bill Seale Memorial Employee of the Year Award. This award is presented to employees who go above and beyond in their everyday duties and who are exemplary in their attitude, character, and integrity. For 2011, FDLIC named three deserving individuals as the recipients of this prestigious award.
Policy Services Representative, Angie Dobbs, always greets customers and fellow employees with a kind word and a smile.
"Angie makes a choice every day to be positive, upbeat, caring and encouraging," said Elaine Edwards, Dobb's supervisor. "She looks for the good in every person she meets. She takes ownership and pride in doing her job and doing it well. She volunteers with a number of organizations, as well as participating in countless volunteer opportunities through FDLIC. In every way, Angie is truly deserving of this award."
The second recipient of the employee of the year award has been a great force for change for the people around her. In 2011, Katherine Pearce, a supervisor in the Accounting Department, instituted a Weight Watchers meeting on the FDLIC campus to encourage fellow co-workers to focus on healthy living.
"Katherine has worked her way up from a staff position to supervisor," said Terry Groban, Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer. "Her work ethic is outstanding. She is always willing to go the extra mile and demonstrates her leadership through her actions. This year, she has really blossomed into quite the example for others. As the driving force behind many of our home office employees taking control of their lives through better eating habits and lifestyle changes, she has truly been a helper of people. Every week she is genuinely excited for the success of each and every participant in the Weight Watchers program."
The final recipient of the award is Terri Bannister, Director of Corporate Training. She garnered high praise from her supervisor as well. VP of Sales, Todd Carlson said of her, "Terri is the consummate professional. She does whatever is needed to get the job donewhether that means putting in long hours, extra travel, or working over a weekend--all while managing hectic schedules, last minute program changes, people challenges, and the multitudes of curve balls thrown her way. You might wonder why someone would volunteer to work within such as state of 'controlled chaos.' For this person, the answer is simple: She delights in other people's successes. She lives to see the 'I got it!' moments of others."
FDLIC would like to congratulate each of the recipients of this award, which is presented in honor of one of the company's founders, Bill Seale, the late father of current President and CEO Kris Seale. "I am so proud of the accomplishments of these three ladies," said Seale. "They are an example of the spirit, dedication, leadership, and heart that drove my father to found the company in the first place. I'd like to thank these ladies for their enduring passion for service and for being an example of truly loving your neighbor every day."
