Steppin' Out for Memories Dinner and Dance a Tremendous Success!

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

FDLIC was honored to be among the top sponsors at the 6th Annual Steppin' Out for Memories Dinner and Dance benefitting the Alzheimer's Association on March 31st.

"Every year this event gets bigger and better," said Jyl Lopez, an FDLIC employee in the Marketing Department and an avid volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association cause. "It was so much fun. The auctioneer this year was the best. He got everyone involved and went up to people's tables and let them hold the items up for bid. The whole night was such a huge success with great food, great music, and great entertainment."

The annual event raises money and awareness for the fight against the spread of Alzheimer's disease. A growing number of people and families are afflicted by this extremely heartbreaking and debilitating disease. That is what events like these are all about. The benefit raised money through ticket sales and live and silent auctions to go toward helping thousands of families who are suffering from this disease in our local area.

"There are not enough words to express my feelings today," wrote Libby Connally, regional director of the North Central Texas Chapter, in an email following the event on Saturday night. "Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers!" She went on to say that the North Central Texas Chapter had far exceeded their fundraising goal and that the evening had been a resounding success.

FDLIC is proud to partner with our local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association to fight this terrible disease and bring relief to families and caretakers who live with Alzheimer's every day.
