Accounting

The Accounting Department is responsible for processing incoming premiums, tracking company expenditures, and maintaining accurate records throughout the year. The Accounting Department's expertise and accuracy upholds our company's financial stability, which has earned FDLIC an A- "Excellent" rating from A.M. Best Company.


Administration

The Administration Department ensures that all home office daily functions run smoothly. The Administration staff is also responsible for maintaining the home office building and organizing and preparing for VIP trips, training events, company luncheons, and much more. Trust conversions are also handled and processed through our staff in the Administration Department.


Directors Air

Directors Air provides quick and convenient transportation for FDLIC executives and employees attending regional training meetings, conventions, and meetings with funeral home owners and managers. Directors Air also provides transportation for funeral home staff during FDLIC VIP trips.


Directors Choice Assignment Services

Directors Choice Assignment Services, a sister company of FDLIC's, offers fast advance payment when families wish to pay for funeral services with assignable life insurance. As Directors Choice has grown, so has our ability to serve as a convenient resource to our clients.

Directors Choice can be used as a vital tool for many of our customers. We can assist with not only assignments, but with valuable information. We keep a database as well as claims forms on file which are available to FDLIC's clients, whether they use Directors Choice or not. When it comes to filing for benefits, we are here as an advisor and a resource to FDLIC clients.

What may seem initially like a simple process of filing a life insurance claim can quickly become a tangled mess. An insurance company may sell to another company several times. By the time a claim is filed on the policy, a funeral home must sometimes jump through many hoops and battle through layers of red tape to figure out where the policy landed and to get paid. Directors Choice maintains current records on which company currently holds another company's original policy. That's only one example of the kind of information Directors Choice can provide upon request.

Directors Choice can also, of course, take on the assignment and immediately forward the proceeds of the policy upon verification of benefits. Payment can be made by direct deposit or by check. Families really appreciate the peace of mind they have when they know it's all been taken care of. In many cases, they can even receive the balance of the policy above the cost of the funeral.


Fulfillment Center

The Fulfillment Center provides a convenient, central location where FDLIC materials and brochures can be ordered and processed. The Fulfillment Center works efficiently with agents, managers and funeral homes to provide the materials they need to do business with FDLIC. They handle all incoming and outgoing mail, and are able to provide tracking information upon request.


Human Resources

Our people truly do make the difference, and the FDLIC Human Resources Department ensures that the company finds the right people for the job. Human Resources helps the company hire, train, and develop employees, becoming a source of motivation and encouragement to employees in both their professional and personal lives.

Management Information Services (MIS)

The MIS Department is dedicated to providing cutting-edge technology solutions for our staff and our funeral home clients. Because the uses of technology are more prevalent and necessary in business today, the MIS team works to build high-traffic, profitable Web sites for clients, time-saving software programs such as DIGicon, and in-house upgrades to systems so that we are continually improving our level of service. MIS also provides extraordinary service and support to FDLIC employees in the various areas of technology services.


Marketing

The Marketing Department is made up of communications professionals who specialize in creating effective, community-centered marketing programs. Because one size doesn't fit all when it comes to marketing, the department takes a customized approach to serving each unique client.


New Business

The New Business Department is the critical link between FDLIC and its sales professionals. The department processes and evaluates new contracts on a daily basis and provides support to sales professionals and managers.

The department provides assistance to sales professionals by answering any questions concerning contracts, commission, and more. New Business pays commission and assists sales professionals with getting licensed and appointed.

The department provides additional assistance through DIGicon, an easy-to-use software program that allows agents to do contracts more accurately and quickly, while also keeping the customer's information safe and cutting down costs and waste by eliminating the need to frequently use paper.

The department also scans every contract and important piece of correspondence into an optical disc storage system. In addition, New Business sends acceptance letters to new contract owners.

Team members aspire to build more cohesive relationships with sales managers and marketing organizations, as well as improve the accuracy of processing contracts. Their goal is to be the leading provider of service to our sales professionals and clients.


Policy Services

The primary responsibility of the Policy Services Department is to maintain open lines of communication between funeral homes, contract holders, and the company.

When customers call during business hours between 7:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Central time, they can expect to speak with a real person who really cares. Team members are equipped to quickly access information regarding current balance, billing, status and payment history. They also issue billing statements, coupon books and process electronic draft payments as well as check-by phone payments.

Team members can also provide pay-off quotes and report contract values to Department of Human Services offices nationwide. Team members work with policy holders to meet their needs from the time the contract is processed until a claim is submitted.


Sales

Our sales management team is dedicated to discovering each of our clients' needs and proposing proven and effective solutions that work. Our managers are experienced in recruiting and training dynamic sales teams, implementing effective marketing initiatives, and developing successful and thriving preneed programs.


Terminations

The Terminations Department is made up of sensitive and caring people who serve each family and funeral home with compassion. While understanding their sense of urgency, the team quickly provides benefit quotes and claim information upon request. Their goal is to process claims by the next business day whenever possible.

Additionally, team members assist contract holders with cancellations and contracts falling into default, knowing that difficult times may arise for any family at any time. In many of these cases, a solution is found to help families maintain the life of their contract. While working with the funeral home, the team offers as many options as possible to suit the needs of each family.

Furthermore, the service-minded individuals of the Terminations Department are familiar with the regulations pertaining to each state and take care to adhere to these different requirements. They strive to protect the interests of all parties involved while upholding the integrity of the company and making it the best, most respected provided of service to the industry.


Training

The Training Department is devoted to encouraging, developing and building new skills in our employees, managers and agents. The Training Department works to provide high quality training programs for regional meetings, managers' training sessions, and in-house employee seminars.
